In today’s age, it seems like everyone is glued to their phones. They’re a necessity, we get it! However, a wedding ceremony should be a time where you’re gifted the opportunity to unplug and be in the moment for once. You’ve heard the term “unplugged ceremonies” before, but we’re here to say (from experience) that more often than not, these attempts to deter the digital directive to document directly are damn near impossible.

TL;DR – Unplugged ceremonies are a MUST, but most times don’t work out as well as we think.

As photographers and videographers who have shot 100+ weddings, we’ve seen countless times where guests are crowding the aisle to get their low resolution version of the shot that the couple paid thousands of dollars for. We break down our biggest frustrations in this episode, as well as outline some key tips on how to ensure your unplugged ceremony stays radio silent.

Our best tip is to have your DJ and officiant announce the unplugged ceremony prior to starting! The “unplugged ceremony” signs are helpful as well, but sometimes get overlooked especially if they’re low to the ground (ha, ha, ha, pun).
